4 Secrets for Successful Business Signs

04-27-2017

Creating great signage is no accident. Many factors enter the picture. Whether you choose neonmonumentoffice, or channel letter signs, Los Angeles businesses need effective signs. Without these four valuable sign design secrets, you could lose out to the competition...

1. The Myth of Upper Case Lettering

Many people believe all capital letters attracts more attention and it easier to read from afar. However, many studies show just the opposite. The truth is, "all capitals" are perfect for some signs and not good for others. For example, channel letter signs lend themselves well to capital letters, but Dave's Signs has created some attractive and effective channel letters in Los Angeles with standard lettering also.

2. There's Nothing Wrong with Empty Space

Some of the most effective signs have plenty of blank space. You don't need to fill up empty areas to have effective signage. Filling in too much space gives your signs a "crowded" look and can make them hard to read and unattractive. It's not uncommon for great signs to have as much as 40 percent unfilled space.

3. Determining Letter Size

What size do you need for lettering? You can find many excellent letter visibility charts, and they are valuable tools. But the truth is, it's better to have letters slightly larger than you need than ones that are tiny. Big letters have a greater visual impact. If your letters are too small people may not bother to read them.

4. It's Easy to Make Mistakes

There are many factors to consider for channel letter signscustom graphics and other types of business signage. Without professional help, you can easily make a mistake, and one error or omission can cost your business extra money that you could have avoided. Dave's Signs has experienced professionals to help your Los Angeles business through the entire sign process, getting permits, sign design, fabrication and installation. Plus unlike other sign companies, we are there for you when it comes to sign service and maintenance.

Wow I had no idea that it is fine to leave blank space on your sign. I have been looking for some signs to put up for an event I'm putting together. I can see how it might be nice to include space, that way your sign won't be too crowded to read. http://adacentral.com/quick-ship-signs/restroom-signs.html
