We take pride in the signs we create for our customers and often share how they come together on our blog. The vintage custom graphic sign design we did for Night Shift Garage was one for the books, though. Dave’s Signs would like to thank Amber for a job well done and share the story of this fun job with our customers.
Amber’s Vintage Design for Night Shift Garage
Night Shift Garage reached out to us to put vintage-inspired painted graphics on their Datsun mini truck. Amber, who heads our printed graphics department, designed this layout from scratch.
Vintage design and old school cars, trucks, and trailers are right up Amber’s alley. They are all in her personal interest, so a project like this was a real treat for her. The client got three unique proofs and liked them all and that almost never happens!
Since they liked them all, Amber combined features from each proof to come up with the final design. She saw this project through from beginning to end… through design and fabrication…and even painted the graphics herself. Of the project, Amber said,
“I got to drive his truck into the workshop myself in order to work on it. It was fun, I’ve never driven a Datsun before. I feel like I really captured what the client was looking for and delivered it in the final product!”
“[The] client was over-the-moon happy with how it turned out. He was so stoked! He said he couldn’t wait to show everyone in his car club. Everyone in the shop was blown away by how it turned out too,” she added.
Trust is a Factor When it Comes to Vintage Jobs
Amber said that there wasn’t too much out of the ordinary to overcome, but the pressure to do a good job was high. A classic vehicle is very beloved by the owner. It is a leap of faith on their part to let someone else do anything to their “baby.”
After the job was finished, Amber told us, “I have had old cars and vehicles and feel the very same way when in the care of others. I think the best part of the whole job was seeing the owner so thrilled with the work!”
